Wow, I didn't have to look at anything for that title...cool.
First post here, but I've been haunting for a while, and I suddenly had the urge to do fanart, partly because my computer has issues with anything that I'm tyring to do for my AP portfolio and I have to reboot the program every three brushstrokes and because I want to see the look on my teacher's face when I said I spent all weekend doing fanart. Very Happy

Anyway, this isn't a finished image, there will eventually be borders to fill up all that nasty empty space, maybe celtic knotwork with falcons and such woven into it. And Darien needs wings. I just realized that. argh. Mad

If the fact that I have the attention span of a goldfish with ADD doesn't kick in first. But you're probably tired of hearing me ramble, so here's the image:

Please excuse the fact that she looks like she's on something. I have trouble with light eyes w/ light eyelashes.

Question: does anyone in the Keisha'ra have portraits done of them? Like Mercy with their partners or such? 'Official' or unofficial? Would a whole group of guards have a portrait with their monarch?

That is so cool! If I may point out something though, her leg and foot (right) is a bit distorted. Still way better than I could ever pull off though...

That is really really good! Almost just what I pictured falcons looking like

Very nice- it'd be perfect if she had her "falcon blue" in her hair. Shouldn't be too hard to edit that in though.

As for portraits, in FALCONDANCE it is specifically mentioned that in Kel's old room she had a glass etching of her and Darien (the etch was colored in as well.)

Wow. I love the outfit! It reminds me a bit of the librarian's waistcoat worn by Lirael in Garth Nix's book. Small details (wings, which you pointed out, and blue streaks, which faye pointed out) might make the picture more accurate to Amelia's description of Darien, but as it is the pic is amazing.

And as for that leg --- it's fine. Smile

It's only minorly distorted --- it actually is possible to stand like that, and some people prefer it, the way some people prefer to stand with all their weight on one leg, equal weight on both feet, legs cross at the ankles, shifting from side to side...okay, the last two were a bit silly, but people all have their own ways of standing, and that --- a ballerina-esque posture --- is one of the more common ones. So, if you want to fix the leg, go to it (you're the artist), but I think it looks fine.

I'm going to try and finish this, unfortunately my dad wiped the computer without telling me, so all I have is this jpeg to work from. Mad

I'm going to try though, because I really like this picture, and I really don't want to work on my portfolio. So she needs falcon blue and wings...hmm, I want to do Kel as a falcon now...well, plenty of time to doodle in drivers ed.
