I could be wrong, but I remember hearing (reading) somewhere that there were shapeshifters that weren't elavie (or weren't created by Leben). (I think someone had mentioned that they were mentioned in either In the Forests of the Night or Demon in My View. If so, where?)

Mainly I was wondering what makes these shapeshifters different from elavie (aside from not being created by Leben)?

Yttar

.......

I personally have no idea what you're talking about. But I'd look in the World section, if I were you.

Yes, they have been mentioned very, very briefly, in the world section I think. They aren't in any of her novels...*goes to world section*Well, never mind, because I can't find it. I still think I know what you mean, though...(and it's not like the Azteka or anything, I'm fairly sure...)Wish I could find that...But yttar, I think I know what you mean.

When I refer to shapeshifters who are not elavie, what I mean is any of the many breeds capable of shifting-shape.

Aubrey is a shapeshifter in that way (vampire/human form, wolf, snake). So is Risika. Some Tristes have shapeshifting abilities. Elementals are by definition shapeshifters, as they utterly control their shapes and don't actually have a "true" one.

That's all I mean, in that case. You wouldn't necessary call them shapeshifters- obviously, they're vampires, Tristes, elementals, etc- but in a very technical sense they are.

yours,
ahar
